Although making duct tape wallets is not a new thing, there are many patterns online that lack durability, creativity and color. These wallets however, that were made at a girl’s camp have a cool pattern developed by one of the volunteers. Since duct tape now comes in tons of different colors and patterns, including neon, camo, tie-dye, animal print and more, making a stylish duct tape wallet is now easier than ever. Follow these steps from CraftyNest.com to make your own duct tape wallet that matches your style.

Tear off four pieces of tape that are about 9 inches long, with your fingers. Stick them to teach other, front to back, overlapping about 1/2 and inch.

Then tear off 4 more pieces that are the same length. Starting about 1/2 and inch from the top, stick them to each other. The last piece should overlap about a 1/2 and inch. The idea here is to stagger the duct tape, otherwise some part of the duct tape will be four layers thick which is hard to fold.

Next fold over the top and bottom edges. The “fabric” should be about 6 inches long. Then using a ruler and knife, cut a clean edge on the left side. Then measure about 8.5 inches and trim the right side. Set this piece aside.

To make the credit card pockets. Tear off two pieces of duct tape that are about 5 inches long. Overlap them like you did in the first step. Then tear off two more 5-inch pieces and adhere like you did in the second step.

Fold over the top and bottom edges like in step 3. The large pocket should be about 3 inches tall. Then using the ruler and knife, cut a clean edge on the left side. Measure 4 inches and trim the right side. Set this piece aside.

Next tear off two new pieces of duct tape that are about 9 inches long. Stick them to each other back to back. Cut the piece into two 4 inch pieces. These will serve as your small pockets.

Then tear off a 5-inch piece of tape. Rip it lengthwise down the middle. Do not cut- rip.

Use two of the ripped pieces to make a top boarder on each of the small pockets. Tape the top edge and fold it over. Then trim the excess away.

Next tear off a 4-inch piece of tape and rip it lengthwise down the middle. Stack the pockets on top of each other, staggering the height of the 2 small ones evenly.

Put a credit card on top of the stacked pockets to make sure you leave enough space for the cards. Using one of the ripped pieces, tape the left side of your pockets right up to the edge of the credit card. Fold it over to the back side and trim the extra tape.

To make the ID window, use another ripped piece to tape the right edge of your window (or clear piece of plastic) and fold it over and trim the extra. Set this aside.

To assemble everything together, first fold your main piece (what you did first) in half lengthwise. Make sure the height of your pockets, window and wallet are the same height (3 inches).

Unfold the main piece. Place the window and pockets in opposite upper corners of the piece. Rip a 9 inch piece of tape and tape the top all the way across.

Then tear off another 4-inch piece of tape and rip it lengthwise down the middle. Refold the main fabric and place a credit card on top of the pockets. Use one of the ripper pieces to tape the right side of the wallet right up against the edge of the credit card. Then fold it over the entire wallet and trim the excess. Next tape the left edge of your wallet the same way and trim the excess.

Tape the bottom edge the same way you taped the top edge by ripping a 9 inch piece of tape and taping it all the way across.

Fold your wallet in half end-wise and press it flat. Then add decoration to the front and you’re done.

Using this wallet pattern, you can create a duct tape wallet in about 45 minutes to an hour. For more information and photos that go with each direction step, see the full article on CraftyNest.com and enjoy your new one-of-a-kind wallet!
